Why Ravi Santokhi returned to Finext.

We are known thanks to our professionals, the Finexters. Some just started working for a month, others have years of work experience. But all are consultants and all are developing their own, and each other's, craftsmanship. Who are these 'Finexters' and what exactly do they do? Of course, they can best tell us that themselves. We ask Ravi Santokhi, consultant for the Board team.

No final farewell

Ravi has a special story. He worked at Finext from 2014 to 2017. Then he left, only to return again in 2021. "I always liked it here," Ravi explains, "so when I went to work elsewhere in 2017, it didn't feel like a final goodbye. I knew I would return at some point." Ravi traded his position for a job with Board, a Finext vendor. "So I continued to work a lot with my former colleagues and never lost sight of the organization."

Lead consultant

In 2021, he was asked to come back, albeit in a different role. "Finext was growing considerably and the Board team had to be expanded. That worked out: many colleagues have joined over the past few years." Ravi is now lead consultant. "That means I am responsible for the content of the projects we do. I conduct interviews with clients and supervise medior and junior consultants. I also spend a small portion of my time at the controls myself." Although Ravi admits that he sometimes gets a little less motivated for this. "I've been working with Board for so long that I haven't encountered many surprises."

Always challenging

But actually, Ravi always finds his work challenging. "A lot is possible at Finext, you can motivate yourself in all kinds of ways. For example, I am currently testing the new Pigment tool with a few colleagues, which is enormously interesting and fun to do." Ravi reveals that his working days are very varied anyway. "I'm always working on different projects, at different locations, and in addition to my work as a consultant, I also have some internal tasks. For example, in my team I am responsible for marketing and sales."

Balance

So it's safe to say that Ravi has no regrets about his return. "Definitely not! Finext is a very nice company to work for." He explains: "Because of the openness and transparency, the atmosphere is just good. You get a lot of freedom, the culture is transparent and you are never alone. As a result, the work-life balance is always right. Well, I can't say otherwise", I'm just very satisfied with my job at Finext."
