Capacity planning with Pigment
One of the components in xP&A is often solving capacity problems. This can be looked at from different angles such as: resources, logistics, production capacity. This can be solved from different routes. All possible scenarios you want to calculate in real time to ultimately make good decisions.
Challenges in the planning process
Contraints are often difficult to model, Pigment offers very flexible options for this. Ultimately you want to model the impact on revenue & costs, but also the impact on other processes & dependencies between various business units. Workflows are a good solution for this so that a forced process is followed which is logical and equal to the business process. We want to calculate as much as possible from historical data and that you are able to simulate decisions and see the impact to make a decision. We do the simulation at a higher aggregate level and we spread it to lower detail levels based on historical data. This also applies to relationships between business units, IC position and pass-through to the P&L. The problem, however, is that the data quality recorded in the source system is often too low. Pigment exposes this data and shows exactly where it goes wrong so that targeted actions can be taken.
Capacity planning with Pigment
Nowadays it captures a lot of data think about speed of production lines, truck trips with utilization rates, in and out of stock. These are drivers at a fairly detailed level that Pigment can aggregate at a planning level so that this is manageable to simulate with. See also how Pigment 's impact diagram maps the dependencies of drivers so that this does not become a black box.
