Consolidate with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance for Group Reporting
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance for Group Reporting is the integrated consolidation application within SAP S/4HANA for consolidation of financial data of different entities within a group of companies.
What does SAP Group Reporting do?
It consolidates data and thus lays the foundation for group-wide figures through:
- Uniform structures including smart matrix consolidation
- Reporting capabilities for various accounting policies (IFRS / GAAP / Taxes / Etc.)
- Integration with companies or units inside and outside the scope of the S/4Hana platform using GRDC
- Rate conversion
- Eliminations
- Manual enrichments
- Cash flow calculations
SAP Group Reporting has a reputation for not being very good at reporting, which is true. However, it is a very mature consolidation tool that, when used in line with SAP Analytics Cloud, is part of an integrated solution on S/4HANA. You then use Group Reporting for consolidation and Analytics Cloud for planning and dashboarding, in addition to S/4HANA Cloud ERP
Who uses Group Reporting?
The strength of the system lies in financial reporting, but because of the specification of the data (almost all specifications from S/4Hana can be included) it also provides a useful basis for management reporting, especially in combination with a BI tool such as SAC. This allows corporate control, consolidation and reporting, and FP&A departments to use Group Reporting.

Finext & SAP
Finext is an independent technology partner of the Office of the CFO, committed to providing best-in-class tools and financial expertise. We offer SAP Group Reporting as part of SAP Cloud Finance, with accounting, reporting and financial operations on SAP S/4HANA Cloud and financial planning and analysis on SAP Analytics Cloud.
OutlookSoft was launched in 2003 and quickly became a leading consolidation tool on the market. Finext was one of the first partners in the Netherlands in 2005 and soon became one of the largest implementation partners in the Benelux. In 2007 SAP purchased OutlookSoft, bringing Finext into the SAP world. Finext continued to focus on OutlookSoft business planning and consolidation implementation under SAP's BPC brand.
SAP is moving business consolidation and planning tooling to the cloud with S/4HANA Cloud. SAP Analytics Cloud and Group Reporting are the natural successors to BPC. Finext began using those tools in the early stages of the product. Now, 3 years after its release, Group Reporting is mature and is a pretty good consolidation tool with some unique features."
Group Reporting is constantly evolving and new features are added to the solution every month. Upcoming developments can be found in the roadmap (only accessible with S number): Group Reporting Roadmap
