When your company's FP&A platform is in dire need of modernization, where do you turn? This challenge faced Oliver Cen, CFO of Speexx, a global, digital workforce development platform. He needed a versatile solution that could be efficiently implemented across regions and products.
One of the main concerns at Speexx was implementing a new FP&A platform in a rapid manner. The old platform was so outdated that updating and maintaining it became impossible. It was critical for Oliver to implement Vena quickly and seamlessly.
After evaluating several FP&A software options, Oliver chose Vena because he was impressed with the flexibility and functionality that the old system lacked. "We had to start from scratch," he says, but the results were quickly apparent. "We could quickly see data and results more easily," he explains.
Adding that the transition to Vena "allows us to understand our financial environment more easily and quickly."
Promote Better Decision Making and Collaboration with Vena
The implementation, facilitated by Finext, was surprisingly quick and painless, and the company saw an immediate improvement over its previous processes. "We used to send separate Excel sheets by e-mail," Oliver explains. "But Vena delivered a huge improvement in process efficiency." Vena uses Excel as its interface, which made adapting to the new solution very pleasant.
In addition, the increased capacity has saved Speexx's team significant time and resources. Oliver says that since switching the company's budgeting process to Vena, the team has shaved off at least three weeks of the process. This time saving, in turn, has improved the quality of the team's output.
"I now have visibility and control," Oliver says. "For the first time since implementing Vena, I feel proactive instead of reactive. It allows me to ask more questions, gives me more power and control, and makes my work life much more enjoyable."
Impressed by the transformation of Speexx's basic FP&A workflows, Oliver looks forward to focusing on operational and workforce planning. Watch the video here:
