Why Ivaylo is challenged every day.

We are known thanks to our professionals, the Finexters. Some just started working for a month, others have years of work experience. But all are consultants and all are developing their own, and each other's, craftsmanship. Who are these 'Finexters' and what exactly do they do? Of course, they can best tell us that themselves. We ask Ivaylo Gerasimov, consultant for the CCH Tagetik Team.

Variety

"I like variety. Both privately and professionally," Ivaylo says. "Right now, for example, I work for five different clients. Every day is different. Sometimes I work at home and get totally absorbed in the technology, the other day I'm on location conducting client consultations." He continues: "And when I'm free, I meet up with my friends or go to sports. I do everything from hiking in Bulgaria to boot camp on the Scheveningen beach."

No preference

Ivaylo joined Finext in 2021. He works a lot on consolidation and ESG solutions, planning and budgeting. His clients are everywhere. Both in government and in business. He does not have an industry preference. "I always find my work challenging. Both in terms of content and in the cooperation with constantly different people." Especially the latter is indispensable in his role. "You can always learn the technology, but cooperation, good communication, dealing with others, that just has to be in you."

Responsible

As a senior consultant, Ivaylo is responsible for the course of action during a project. "I am the point of contact for the customer, engage in discussions and give advice on the best solutions. I also supervise junior and medior colleagues, and of course the employees of the organization for which we are doing the assignment." Ivaylo explains: "After all, they have to be able to handle the tool well. Even when we are no longer there."

Together and yet solo

"Working at Finext is unlike anything else," Ivaylo continues. "On the one hand you are always working together, on the other hand you are very solo. You set your own agenda, the teams are self-managing, and there is no manager to control you. That can be difficult for new colleagues, or for people who need more direction." Ivaylo himself has no problems with it. Quite the contrary. "I love the freedom. Sure, I struggle right away problem sometimes, but there is always a colleague ready to help. No, I really wouldn't want it any other way."
