We are known thanks to our professionals, the Finexters. Some just started working for a month, others have years of work experience. But all are consultants and all are developing their own, and each other's, craftsmanship. Who are these 'Finexters' and what do they do exactly? They can best tell us that themselves, of course. We ask Jeroen Beentjes, consultant for the Tagetik team.
Chaotic
Jeroen has been working at Finext since 2018. "Before that, I was at a large bank," he explains. "But the world of bankers is structured and full of rules. Not really something for me." Jeroen is a senior consultant in the Tagetik team, he likes to work on several projects at the same time. "I'm quite chaotic by nature and my attention span is short, so I really like variety. And that works out well: at Finext, no day is the same."
At the buttons
Jeroen works with clients to implement Tagetik solutions. "I started as a junior consultant, and in the meantime I have risen to senior." He is responsible for the course of the projects, but in addition he is at the controls himself. "I find that not only fun, but also important. Our field is always evolving. If you build it yourself, you know what you're talking about. And surely that's essential when talking to the customer."
Being yourself
Jeroen explains what makes working at Finext so much fun for him. "There are many different types of people working there. It's definitely not a slippery mass, which I like." He continues: "For example, I prefer to work for smaller organizations. They are less unwieldy and therefore things get off the ground faster. That preference is taken into account. This is easy to do: because there are so many differences, no one wants the same thing. Yes, I feel I can really be myself at Finext."
Four children
In addition to his job, Jeroen has a family with four small children. "That is sometimes hard work, but in general my job is fairly easy to combine with home. Especially on home working days I can do a lot. When I'm with clients, of course a little less." All in all, Jeroen is very positive about Finext as an employer, but he does place a caveat. "I love the freedom, but with that freedom comes responsibility. That's not for everyone. It has to suit you."
